"message": "dex2oat: Pack likely-dirty objects together when generating the boot image\n\nThis introduces a new algorithm into image writer which \"bins\" objects\nby how likely they are to be dirtied at runtime. Objects in the same bin\nare placed contiguously in memory (i.e. into the same page). We try to\ntune the bin selection based on how clean or how dirty the object will\nlikely be at runtime.\n\nAs-is, this saves about 150KB per-process (private-dirty pages) and 700KB in\nzygote (shared-dirty).\n\nThere is still about 800KB of objects that are clean but located in\ndirty pages, so with more analysis we can tune the bin selection and get\neven more memory savings.\n\n(cherry picked from commit 3f735bd4f9d09a0f9b2b01321e4c6917879dcae6)\n\nBug: 17611661\nChange-Id: Ia1455e4c56ffd0a36ae2a723d35b7e06502980f7\n"

"message": "Thumb2 assembler for JNI compiler and optimizing compiler\n\nThis provides a programmatic assembler for the thumb2 instruction set for\nARM. The interface is the same as the ARM assembler and the ARM assembler has\nbeen moved into Arm32Assembler. The assembler handles most 16 and 32 bit instructions\nand also allows relocations due to branch expansion. It will also rewrite cbz/cbnz\ninstructions if they go out of range.\n\nIt also changes the JNI compiler to use the thumb2 assembler as opposed\nto forcing it to use ARM32. The trampoline compiler still uses ARM due to the\nway it returns the address of its generated code. A trampoline in thumb2 is the\nsame size as that in ARM anyway (8 bytes).\n\nProvides gtest for testing the thumb2 instruction output. This gtest only runs\non the host as it uses arm-eabi-objdump to disassemble the generated code. On the\ntarget the output is not checked but the assembler will still be run to perform\nall its checks.\n\nChange-Id: Icd9742b6f13541bec5b23097896727392e3a6fb6\n"

At the moment\nthis backend can only compile simple methods (both leaf and non-leaf).\n\nMost of the work on the assembler (assembler_arm64.cc) has been done.\nSome work on the LIR generation layer (functions such as OpRegRegImm\n\u0026 friends) is still necessary.
