      "message": "Fix deadlock when full data backup times out\n\nThe code was attempting to let a reported error in the app \u003c-\u003e engine\nsurface take precedence over apparent success at the engine \u003c-\u003e transport\nhandoff surface.  However, in the case of timeout, this is inappropriate.\nIt was leading to deadlock because the engine runs free, with socket-closed\nas its shutdown signals for determinism.
