      "message": "StateMachine: make toString() terser\n\nThe current implementation of the toString()\nmethod calls dump(). This causes two problems:\n\n1. toString() may return a large string. This\n   is at odds with the advice in the documentation\n   for Object.toString(), which says that the\n   returned String should be concise, and easy\n   to read.\n2. The dump() method is overriden by many of the\n   StateMachine subclasses.
